South Londoners PELA have dropped their juddering, funky new track in the form of ‘Reverie’. The pair combine the vocal talents of Hannah Coombes (who delivers a sweet pop vocal throughout the track) and production skill of Olly Shelton (who layers texture, harmony and melody to perfection). For ‘Reverie’, the pair also brought in the help of Dom Walker who provides funky saxophone melodies the listener can lap up during the track’s second half. As you can tell, a lot went into perfecting the track: “A lot of love went into Reverie both in terms of the time it took to get the sound and the way we both feel towards it. We had 4 or 5 different versions with different vocals/productions, each with unique endpoints. We landed on this version as it captures what the song is about – a dreamlike state.” Keep an eye out for our upcoming interview with the duo. - Dan Peeke
